Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked as a clinical midwife specialist within a multidisciplinary specialist perinatal mental health team. I also worked as a midwife across different areas of maternity care.

This experience has given me a strong understanding of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood – not only from a psychological perspective, but also from the physical, social and medical perspectives.

Having worked within the maternity system, I understand how it can feel to navigate appointments, professionals, birth experiences and the transition into parenthood, as well as how these experiences can affect parents emotionally.

  • An unplanned or unwanted pregnancy
  • Mixed or difficult feelings about becoming a parent
